Love this!
Love this! As someone who’s taken a similarly non-linear path, I couldn’t agree more. I was hired into high-paying jobs at Goldman Sachs and McKinsey, but I quit as soon as I felt I wasn’t learning enough. I took risks and left money on the table. It wasn’t easy. I faced some tough times. But the challenges made me the person I am today. The advice I give students and recent graduates: Challenge yourself, take yourself out of your comfort zone, surround yourself with the smartest people and learn as much as you can. Worry less about base salary and focus on the non-economic benefits. It’s a wonderful feeling to see the pattern of your career start to emerge from the “puzzle pieces” you’ve collected along the way.
